Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Your email and password (stored as a one-way encrypted hash, never in plain text), and the content you choose to add: names, relationships, photos, videos, audio recordings, signatures, family tree entries, bucket list items, and messages.

2. How We Use Your Information

Solely to operate the app for you: storing and displaying your content, authenticating your login, and sending you account-related emails (like password resets). We do not sell your data or use it for advertising — Beloved Presence does not show ads.

3. Third-Party Services

Beloved Presence relies on a small number of service providers to operate. Each receives only the minimum information needed for its specific function, and none of them are permitted to use your content for their own purposes:

• Railway — hosts our application server and database, where your account details and the text-based content you create (names, relationships, family tree entries, bucket list items, messages, and reminders) are stored.
• Cloudflare R2 — stores your uploaded files: photos, videos, audio recordings, signature images, and spoken consent recordings.
• Resend — delivers account-related emails, such as password reset codes. Resend receives only your email address and the contents of that message.
• Google Play Billing — processes in-app purchases. Payment is handled entirely by Google; we never see or store your payment card details. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase was completed, which we verify with Google in order to unlock what you bought.

Beloved Presence does not use analytics services, advertising networks, or third-party tracking tools. We do not sell or share your personal information with anyone for marketing purposes, and your content is never used to train artificial intelligence models.

4. Automated Message Scanning

Messages you write in the "Message to Send Later" feature are automatically scanned for language that may indicate a mental health crisis or intent to harm someone. This scanning happens on our server, is not reviewed by a person, and exists solely to surface crisis support resources to you when appropriate.

5. Data Storage & Security

Passwords are encrypted with industry-standard hashing. Access to your loved ones' profiles is restricted to your account. As with any digital service, no method of storage is 100% guaranteed secure, and we encourage using the in-app Sharing feature to keep independent copies of anything irreplaceable.

6. Your Rights

You can edit or delete any content you've added at any time — see our instructions for deleting individual data. You can also permanently delete your entire account and all associated data — see our Account Deletion instructions for the exact steps and what gets removed.

7. Children's Privacy

Beloved Presence is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll note the date of the most recent update at the top of this page.
